Third Sunday of Easter 2021
Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,
I have returned from my retreat and am back at St. Joe's (although I'm writing this letter during Holy Week before I left on retreat, so I'm assuming I made it back!). I hope that you've had a blessed Easter Octave and Divine Mercy Sunday.
Today we have the Friars' Appeal. This appeal supports the formation and training of Dominican friars – their formation, theological education, feeding and clothing them, etc. Our province of Dominicans, the Province of St. Joseph, also known as the Eastern Province, is blessed to have many vocations. Our seminary in DC, the Dominican House of Studies, is full and we have many young men entering the province every year. The downside is that we have to find ways to support and educate (and feed) many young men! This appeal supports that effort. It ensures that the future friars serving you at St. Joseph's, and serving at many other ministries throughout our province, will have the proper training and formation to serve the Lord and the people of God well. Please pray about supporting the Friars' Appeal and ensuring that the Dominicans can continue to serve the Church here and throughout the province.
God Bless,
Fr. Boniface
