Fourth Sunday of Easter
Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,
The new McGuire parish hall is coming along. The walls are now in place and next, we'll build the new bathrooms and start painting the walls and laying the floor. A wheelchair lift will be installed soon, which is why you see the boxed-off section in the narthex – that's where the wheelchair lift will be located. Soon we'll order the furniture for the parish hall. I'm hoping that it will be completed at some point in June. Work is also coming to a close on the repointing of the school building walls. The exterior walls will now be watertight.
Now that Easter is over my schedule is less hectic and I'm going to continue fundraising for the
adoration chapel we're planning. I need to raise at least half the money for the project from outside St. Joseph's so I'm working on doing so. If you know anyone outside St. Joseph's who would be interested in the project please let them know about the project website:
www.perpetualadoration.nyc. I believe that this chapel will be a source of great grace for our parish and city. My prayer is that we'll be able to begin construction on the chapel this Fall.
I know there's been a lot of construction. The light at the end of the tunnel is in view! When the parish hall is completed I'm looking forward to all the ministries we can start and all the parish events we can hold there. I'm looking forward to building community now that all the physical building is coming to completion!
God Bless,
Fr. Boniface
